How does the bottle scan work?
Point your camera at a wine label and tap Scan. Cellar & Table reads the label and returns tasting notes, drink window guidance, and pairing suggestions — typically in a few seconds. For best results, make sure the label is well-lit and fully in frame.
What is the Taste Profile and how does it work?
Your Taste Profile is built automatically from the wines you log. As you rate and record bottles, the app learns your preferences — grape varieties, regions, styles, and flavor patterns you tend to enjoy. This profile personalizes your pairing recommendations over time. The more you log, the more accurate it becomes.
How many scans do I get each month?
Free plan limits:
  • Bottle scans — 10 per month
  • Restaurant wine list scans — 3 per month
  • Pair at Home — 3 per month
  • Cellar — up to 12 bottles
Sommelier plan limits:
  • Bottle scans — 50 per month
  • Restaurant wine list scans — 20 per month
  • Pair at Home — 30 per month
  • Cellar — up to 1,000 bottles
  • Full Taste Intelligence access
Limits reset on the first of each month.
Why isn't the app recognizing my wine label?
A few things to try:
  1. Make sure the label is fully visible and not obscured.
  2. Improve lighting — avoid harsh backlighting or shadows across the label.
  3. Hold the phone steady and a few inches from the label.
  4. If the label is foil or embossed, try photographing it from a slight angle to reduce glare.
Very rare or small-production wines may not return full results — in that case, you can still log the bottle manually.
How does Restaurant Mode work?
Photograph a restaurant wine list and Cellar & Table will read the menu and rank the options based on your taste profile and the dish you describe. You'll get a ranked list with pairing notes so you can order with confidence.
How do I use Pair at Home?
Describe what you're cooking or photograph a dish, and Cellar & Table recommends wines that pair well — either from a store or from your own cellar. Pairing suggestions take your taste profile into account, so recommendations are personalized to what you actually enjoy.

How do I upgrade to Sommelier?
Open the app and tap the profile icon in the top-right corner, then select Upgrade to Sommelier. You can choose monthly or annual billing. Annual billing saves 33% compared to monthly.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel anytime from within the app. Tap the profile icon in the top-right corner, go to Account Settings, and select Manage Subscription. From there you can cancel or switch plans.

Your Sommelier access continues until the end of the current billing period. You will not be charged again after cancelling.
What happens to my data if I downgrade to Free?
Your wine journal, cellar, and taste profile are preserved. You retain access to everything you've logged. You will be limited to the Free plan's monthly scan limits going forward, and Taste Intelligence features will no longer be accessible until you re-subscribe.

How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account directly from within the app:
  1. Tap the profile icon in the top-right corner of any screen.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
  3. Confirm when prompted.
Deleting your account permanently removes all your data — wine journal, cellar, taste profile, and scan history. This action cannot be undone. If you have an active Sommelier subscription, please cancel it first through the App Store (see above) to avoid further charges.
What data does Cellar & Table collect?
We collect the information needed to provide the service — your account details, the wines you log, your ratings, and usage data. We do not sell your personal information. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
